Thanks for visiting my home page. I am a working as a Senior Scientist in the research area of computational biology. My current research is focused on to understand the role of two chromatin remodellers, Chd4 and Brg1 in regulating promoter activity during stem cell differentiation. I use multitude of genomics data (RNA-seq, TF-ChIP-seq, Histone-ChIP-seq) to study how the binding of the two remodellers alters the chromatin landscape and activity of promoters.

During my post-doctoral work with Prof. Bo Porse, I studied the role of two transcription factors (TF), PU.1 and CEBPA during differentiation of stem cells into mature blood cells (hematopoiesis). In contrast to our previous understanding, I showed that CEBPA controls PU.1 levels and loss of CEBPA leads to a very early differentiation block during hematopoiesis. I also showed that the formation of granulocytes is driven by a sub-set of enhancers where CEBPA acts a pioneering factor, and are not dependent on PU.1 for their activation [PMID: 29847803, 27095194].
